Air gun ban looms!

Once again the law being an arse!

Has the handgun ban stopped them being used in 'crime'? NO

Will a knife ban stop people getting stabbed? NO

Will banning air guns stop idiots using them? NO

I am all for a 'safe society', as I am sure we all are, but nothing the government will do, or has done yet, will stop guns or knives being used in crime!

At the end of the day licencing makes sense but guns used illegally are not on a ticket are they?

 

True indeed, the somewhat draconian and totally ineffectual handgun legislation brought about 'post Dunblane' has had absolutley no effect on what the government percive as 'gun crime' which has only increased since this lame legislation was introduced, now think about that for a moment, you can no longer buy a handgun, anyone who owned a handgun legally pre ban was obliged to hand it into the authorities, and inspite of this crime with handguns has increased, how much money did the tax payer have to cough up to see this totally useless act passed which doubtless only served as a politicans vote winner and as i said has proved to be useless in all other respects

 

failing to learn from this the Government then seem set to plough millions into the creation of flawed ineffectual legislation in an effort to combat percived 'knife crime' i am sure we can all think of other ways to spend money from the public purse in a more constructive manner

 

we do not need tougher and ultimatley ineffectual legislation from this or any future government, what we need is tougher sentencing for the miscreants that perpetuate these criminal acts, if we have no space in our prisons then spend the money that would otherwise be spend on pushing ineffectual legislation through parliment on the construction of more prisons to house the people who commit these criminal acts

They can not enforce current Legisation - if it was Enforced it would remove

Never in a million years will they get air rifles banned there is noway of checking who has one and who doesnt. They will never give them in me included. This country is going down it has been for years. Im off to Austraila soon anyway i hope. This country has nothing to offer me anymore. If were not even allowed air rifles/pea shooters then expect in the next 5 years to not be allowed to breath without permission.

In the north of austrailia most firearms are banned And AIR GUNS but some states in the south you can get them easy
