Looks like we'er about to loose air guns? Scotland on Sunday has a article about them. Looks like air wepons are going down the same road as SLR's and Pistols .

Its always the idiots that ruin it for everyone, i used to hunt on the mountain near my house but there was some idiot shooting the farmers sheep so now there are forrestry police everywere and guns have been conviscated .

I think some type of air gun licence would be a good idea. It would stop all the knuckle heads, yes it would take time to remove the unlicensed guns. But I don’t think it would affect any of us. I say us as the sensible users of air guns. I have been shooting over 30 years with an air rifle and I have never been stopped by the police or had anyone complain about me using an air rifle.

As much as some would like to see the Banning of air Gun's

I doubt if it could ever come in as there is Not way they could enforce it.............

 

Same as Licensing ............

I think a ban is too much they need to just make stricter rules on air guns when buying things that will deter people just to make air rifles hard to come bye to the average joe. air rifles are too easy to come by peoles dads have there old ones and give them too their sons who havent a clue and just sit at their window and shoot anyliving thing.

I think some sort of register is a better idea, not a licence. Any one that buys an air rifle from a dealer has to register it and so does the dealer and whenever an airgun is sold second hand details passed on like with shotys and rifles. I know there will be alot of airguns under the raidar for a while but its better than nothing and lets face it the sort of idiots that ruin this sport arnt 'hard core' criminals, just fuckwits, so they dont aquire the airguns through non legitimate means, they buy one off of their mate down the street or more often than not go to their local airgun shop.

i agree with the idea of a registor because not everyone is stupid with there air rifles alot of people use them as a sport it is just these random ideots ideots in the towns that buy them and give us a bad name.

BUT what really gets me in this country is if this was something another minority liked to

do then this goverment would not ban it as they dont want to upset them

but only us true British people

You would have to be over 18 to get an air rifle if there was a licence im only 16 and i use the guns for the right thing would not be get a gun.

if there was a licence to get one you should have to have some permission or shoot at a gun club nomatter what your age

Makes me feel like this country has no english people being born in it....Ive about had enough of this country in general its just a joke. The government here has abosolutley no back bone and is pretty pathetic. You can now be granted a FAC ticket and go and get a 243. within reason at the age of 17 but you have to be 18 to buy an air rifle? What is this about!!? Tell you something for nothing noone will be taking my air rifles and if the do a door to door my rifles have "Vanished" . There is alot more i wish to say on this matter but i know i cannot due to forum rules
