You will have done exceptionally well if you have permission on any of the Lowther estate, have ferreted and lamped a lot of the area miles around Penrith. Lots of estates, with all the usual stuff, deer, hare, rabbits and fox, many farmers do give permission to quite a few, so be prepared to see others use it. Quote Link to post

Lots of estates, with all the usual stuff, deer, hare, rabbits and fox, many farmers do give permission to quite a few, so be prepared to see others use it. too true ... we have permission an hour past scotch corner - heading towards penrith , but we have seen numourous people on there , with the same permission slip , when asked the land owner , is answer was simple , alot of people come from out of the area and dont work the land as often as they should , therfore for the land to be worked , he gives more permission out . all best HH Quote Link to post

pack of dogs 34 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Share Posted February 15, 2009 a wouldnt say theres abbundance of hares in penrith saying that there isnt alot of rabbits either 10plus years ago there was plenty but to many guns about these days,lost count the amount of times ive lamped fields and theres dead (shot) rabbits lying about,you can still do ok but you cant get the numbers like you used to,also different parts to penrith have difeferent type of game and different numbers of game,ive hunted in the penrith area for the last 10-17years Quote Link to post
