woodj 33
Hi, just wondered how long the bolts have to be when your fixing your gun cabinet to the wall?? Thanks Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
There is no requirement for the length of the bolts, or indeed which ones to use. The only thing you need to ensure is that the cabinet is secure and immovable against the wall Now, I have always used expanding bolts, even for the 14 gunner I've got now, I use four expanding ones. First of all, measure the holes, I have many a spare bolt because the hole is too small Then rest the cabinet on the floor, flat against the wall, mark the wall behind where the holes are hey presto. Just my way of doing it of course, but its not let me down SS Quote Link to post
Jim Taylor 0
Hi, just wondered how long the bolts have to be when your fixing your gun cabinet to the wall?? Thanks There's no set length required by law as long as its secure, and i guess it depends on how big your cabinet is, and the wall your fixing to? I used 3''(76mm)x0.5''(12.7mm) Rawl bolts into a brick wall for my 4 gun cabinet. make sure you use the right drill bit!! Most cabinets have holes in the base, so you always have the option of floor fixing as well for extra security. Hope this helps you mate JIM Quote Link to post
Guest Mass_G3nocide
If its down stairs you might want to leave it a foot or so off the ground if your area is prone to flooding. Quote Link to post
Ratman2 2
I went over the top in fixing my cabinet, it's got six 4" ragbolts in the back, four 4" ragbolts in the left side and four 6" ragbolts in the floor. If some thieving towrag is going to nick it they're gonna have to work for it. Quote Link to post
