nrat 8
yep agree dodger , the anti's are trying to clamp down on fishing but i dont think fisherman have anything to worry about as it brings in to much and the goverment wouldnt want to see such a loss on such a popular sport . must admit daywalkers do seem to get 'hare blind' and seem to think they have the god given rights to be the only ones to hunt hare. plenty for everyone . next you will be saying dont shoot foxes your right there the fox shoots are following on from the hare shoots, same group of guns,as far as control goes it works the shoot helpers get some sport and the estates get hare and fox numbers down at a very small cost, ground game is not shot at during the season just on the hare and fox shoots afterwards, good sport and control Quote Link to post
sikastag_1 689
what needs to be done needs to be done, they dont just think to theirselfs lets go and shoot 500 hares in 2 days, these things are done for a reason, hares can do a lot of damage, and like someone says if you can shoot 500 hares in 2 days theres too many hares, ill always agree with things like this, because i can look outside the bubble, everythings done for a reason, iv seen plenty of rabbits etc get away from people standing with a shotgun, even the best shots miss, its a pitty everyones like this shooting and hunting with dogs etc are split down the middle Edited August 29, 2019 by grant_c Quote Link to post
victor 10
waist of speed, but if thay fangging hard thay are still a chal;ange to hit with a shot gun, shooting with a centerfire is a waist as you do it from like 200+yards.. Quote Link to post
steviebhoy 0
Im a 100% prp hunting when carried out with respect for your quarry but i must say COURSING should be reinstated and HARE SHOOTS Banned, a hare has very little chance against a line of guns, quite a few only get legged ect to die slow and painfully over time, shooting is indiscriminate ie killing , wounding healthy animals and not the weaker ones as is usually the case for 90% of dogs out there DAYTIME lol, BAN HARE SHOOTS, REINSTATE DAYTIME COURSING, with landowners permission. So you must be against 'all' types of shooting then.? So in my eyes you are no better than the anti's that we all hate. Quote Link to post
boo28 0
its bollox mate, shooting hares should be banned not coursing I agree 100% shooting hares should be banned, Instead of shooting them, Long net them, and transport them up to the south west scottish borders, they are are very thin on the ground, up here, were once there was an abundance, of them, January and feb, I have only seen a couple of them, were as normal you could see 5 or 6 in one field,(((( running and boxing,)) the introduction, of the Buzzards, chemical spraying to kill the tattie shaws, and shooters, have all taken there Toll, and let the coursing come back to life, and let the countryman Be, to enjoy his life again, you obvisly have never netted a hare they die in under 2 min Quote Link to post

Same said for us lads, i wonder how many people with the fxxk the ban logo's orwho winge went on the march. we took the shotties today with the hare, didnt hit one but i wasnt shooting then Quote Link to post
Guest SJM
netted hares die within 2 mins? how do you work that out ? Quote Link to post
nrat 8
netted hares die within 2 mins? how do you work that out ? some netted hares do die soon after capture[shock i suppose] but a good many hares have been netted and moved around the country prior to the ban, once netted hares were placed in small dark boxes to help reduce stress and restrict movement some do die but many went on to help stock coursing grounds Quote Link to post

barnslyben 74
Well its that time of year again, the shooting season is finished and most shoots are letting their ferreteters into the coverts to ferret the rabbits. And now the hare shoots are starting,my brother spends a lot of time beating and picking up thruoghout the shooting season and has now got invites to 4 hare shoots in suffolk the first today the expected bag is about 300 hares this will be followed by a second shoot next week where they expect a further 200 hares after that they are left alone, similar numbers are expected on the other shoots,it always seems a shame to shoot that many hares but i suppose they need controlling.Since the ban several people have been prosecuted in this area for illegal hare coursing and with coursers recieving driving bans and vehicles conviscated its no wonder most courers are wary of slipping dogs in this area. WHATS YOUR VIEW?? i must confess i used to shoot hares years ago,saw too many wounded not by me but shit shots with shotguns, anyone can get a gun and without any training go into the field an shoot and wound these amazing creatures,i stopped shooting them 15 yrs ago, love to see them run by a good dog no finer feeling in the world for me,a dog will take out the weak and the old thus leaving the fittest to breed to the fittest thus inproving the breed if it catch s its dead if not its alive not wounded ,a shotgun is indiscriminate I think there will always be a division between running dog men and shooters; proper dog men like myself, gain an upmost respect for the hare. i love too see them hopping about in the fields but also i love to run them pre ban. i lived for the course sometimes the hare gets away to run another day sometimes it doesn't. some people do not understand coursing at all.it's not about the kill but about the chase. I will never shoot another hare as long as i live; 3 hundred shot hares a day is mass slaughter not a sport Quote Link to post
NID 0
Have to agree with what Luke said,i have heard it myself from landowner, get the hare's shot then we won't have to worry about the running dog men,sad as it is,atb NID. Quote Link to post

Yokel Matt 918
Yawn... same shit different day. Control Vs. Sport nearly always seems to end up as Guns Vs. Dogs despite both being good fun and efficient methods of control in their own right. Quote Link to post
