quicksilver 0
i am looking to get a .17hmr screw cut and was wondering roughly how much i should expect to pay. I was given the price by a local RFD in n ireland which was quoted at approx £100, is this correct ? this does involve dropping the gun off in Drumfries to an engineering shop when the dealer is over. thanks in advance keith Edited February 14, 2009 by quicksilver Quote Link to post

jamie g 17
60 pound round by me well you wait and top workmanship Quote Link to post
quicksilver 0
doesnt include reproof as the guy said it wasnt a requirement , do you need to reproof the larger caliber rifles, if that is taken into account with Noels quote then my £100 is looking a little more expensive. what it includes is screw cut cap to protect threads dropping off the gun and collecting it again. yorksjt 0
I've just paid £50 for mine. It was another £50 for reproofing which wasn't done at the same place, but I was told only needs doing if you are selling the gun?? Quote Link to post

quicksilver 0
the general consensus seems to be that without re proof £100 seems a but steep for just screw cutting, i am looking the details for engineering workshops that screw cut and i will see what prices i get quoted, postage may be a problem though Quote Link to post

Reproofing only an issue when you want shut. Midlands/Derby area so not much use to you. Quote Link to post
