docked lurcher!!

i posted about my dog having an accident and having to have the tip of her tail off a couple of weeks ago i went to get the stitches out yesterday thinking she would be fine but no!

 

 

as the vet took the dressing off the stitches came off wit it leaving the wound still exposed! so that the vet they would have to perform another op just to make sure thers no infection they would only have to take off bout a centimeter,

 

well went to pick her up last night an as the title reads SHE LOOKS DOCKED!

they have taken a considerable amount off!!

 

i am worried this might effect running?

 

any views or any comments about lurchers like mine are more than welcome!lol

I was at Belle Vue last year & saw a greyhound with only half a tail it made no difference to it the dog ran well & took the bends well too

how you doing danny,one of my bitches had more than half her tail of and it didnt cause her any problems,she still ran the same the dog will get used to it no bother

this old boy lost his tail when he was a pup over half of it.. it did not stop him working i put him down at 14yrs

old he took hares deer and fox for 12yrs of his life and countless rabbits.

I beleave there was a hare coursing bitch named (or nick-named) "Half-Tail"...apparently a very good coursing bitch, but thats only what i have heard, i never seen it run..

My old dog has only half a tail now, and although in retirement with my mum, it dont stop the old man tipping gear over...

I wouldnt worry to much...might even make the dog look less "Lurchery"...always a bonus in todays climate!..
