R_Oldroyd 17
Hi All, Its been along time coming but the work is starting to pay off. Its been Murphy's fifth session at attempting to catch a rabbit on the lamp. I have to say i have pushed him a little of late. The only thing at has been stopping us has been the frosts. So tonight was the night before the frost started to harden the ground too much, we headed out to some very local ground. Murphy is familiar with these fields and they are big so this fills me with a little more confidence letting him slip here, we are still learning the ropes. Lets just say the first slip was a bit of a no no. Second Slip was the one. A squatter that was some way out in the field. He gets so excited that he runs flat out and the gallop you can hear a mile off. So new tactic. Let him slip on the rabbit out of beam in the dim and this make him walks or stalk the beam when close enough i gave the rabbit the full force and this did the trick. Murphy turned the rabbit twice and just missed on the turn. By this point the rabbit was getting close to the hedge and i thought that was it but no, he followed to my surprise i heard that tell tale squeak and that was it his first nailed rabbit at night. Here is the pic. P.S No comment about the laundry regards Roger. Quote Link to post
