Guest Countryboyo
Hi lads does anyone here hunt with full greys regularly. and before some smart arse says that if greys were good hunting dogs we wouldnt be breeding lurchers to do the job I know greys are injury prone and f***ers for running in to things and I know they dont have the stamina of the lurcher or brain. Its just I bought a track grey before and he didnt make the cut and im wondering now should I have kept him and tried him out in the field? I probally should have considering I got F-all for him. Im just thinking I might get a small ex track bitch and breed my own lurchers that way if she makes the cut in the field rather than buying a lurcher now when I cant decide what type I want. What do you think? Cheers CB Quote Link to post

Ive heard that the best way to decrease the chance of greys hitting fences and ditches is to take them out from very young when they are slow and let their brain for hunting develop at the same rate as their speed. In fairness to the greys most of them are only taken out lamping or coursing when they are fully grown and like rockets. they are in experienced and accidents waiting to happen. Quote Link to post

I am undecided on what lurcher I want and thats why I want to get a small grey bitch so I can test her while im deciding what I want and I will be able to breed my own lurchers. Quote Link to post
