Get two pups. Feed them before you go to work and when you come home and last thing at night. Better alternative than what is being sugegsted. Oh and plenty of toys and chews and stuff is the way to go., At that age they sleep a ton of hours and you can get plenty of constructive play done in the evenings.
I AGREE THAT SOUND GOOD TWO LOADS OF SHIT TO CLEAN HA HA

hi we also have a 7 week old pup and at the moment is out playing dig up my plants in the back garden with my teenager.

she has a crate indoors and lots of social company.

also toys and some training can be done.

ours is already paper trained even though she may be out more than in when bigger.

a good working dog can not be spoiled by affection and company but it will make them want to please there master more by doing there bidding.

two pups out together this time of year will still be way to cold unless your kennels are properly insulated and water tight.

our other dogs live permanently out but all had the same start inside the house and moved out in the summer to acclimatise them.

if leaving the pup is the only option do you trust someone to maybe come in and play with the pup during the day for a few hours.

good luck new pups are great. :D

hiya we have 2,8 week old pups who are brothers.weve got 4 dogs altogehter and they all live in.the pups have their own crate and i have them out every couple of hours for a run around something to eat and a play with my 2 boys and the other dogs.they seem to be coming on really well, and love the company and the fuss, but still rag on the rabbit skin and try to tear lumps out of eachother lol.as was suggested before they are now more or less papertrained and settle down at night without a peep out of them.they go mad when i come down in the morning as they know its time to be fed and come out to play, and its lovely to see them growing up,i personally think pups do best with as much attention, love ,fuss and of course training you can give them, this is the stage they bond with you and learn to trust you which will make a better dog in the long run as they really want to please you.some good suggestions so far, just try and do whichever suits both you and the pup

The house will not be full of shit and piss. It's called house training, it takes time and patience, not alot to ask is it. If your working all day then a new young puppy really isn't the best thing to get imo. You need to spend alot of time with it in the first few weeks to bond with it, train it, feed it properly, play with it, a puppy that grows up with little human contact quite frankly grows up characterless and/or mental, just think what a human baby would grow up like if it was alone for most of it's childhood, it would become a social reject tbh. Not having a dig, just giving my opinion. ;)

if i work from 9-5 and have a new puppy in the house, id expect it to be full of shit and piss. not unless a 7week old puppy can learn over night not to do it and can hold it in

It's not a human baby, I have a young pup and it live outside happily, it would stress the pup unduly if it was expucted to hold itself for a long period in a crate etc.
