hunters glory 31
I am having trouble getting woodshavings . Pet shops when they have it is £8. 50 a bale . Horse shop £7. 99 but restricting it to two bales a time . What do you all use . Wont use cat litter as it makes the coats dry and harsh. Quote Link to post
diggermad 154
best thing mate is shavings but if not try news papers maybe 4 or 5 sheets in the area where they do their buisness hope that helps cheers DM Quote Link to post
Jim Grant 4
I have a big woodburner to feed and log lots of hardwood. I supply a couple of the local ferreters with bedding shavings and also sort of wood wool which you can make by sawing down the grain. Apparently great for stuffing a box and leave then to burrowing. Just glad to get rid of the stuff. Quote Link to post

jimjim555 0
i get the big bales.....£5 from the local famers supply merchant, not sure weather the main land has this particular merchant.. 'Fane Valley' ? Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
Believe it or not the lack in availability of wood shavings is down to the recession and the lack of wood being produced by the building trade. I have had to get my last two bales from pets at home at nearly £12 a bag. I don't like using paper because if the ferret is wet it turns to paper mache and sticks to them. Quote Link to post
