Shit luck.

Just had to put my 6 year old beddy/whippet collie/grey down. Had this bitch since 8 weeks old and the most loyal dog i've ever owned, this bitch would get jealous of me stroking any other dog and would do what ever she could to be centre of my attention. She was a very good rabbiting bitch and served me well. Problem was she was a picky little bugger at times and today she started on my lakie bitch out in the field, whilst trying to get the lakie off my new deerhound/grey bull/grey ploughed in and done some real damage very quickly. So whilst trying to hide this scrap from my young daughter, finally managed to prize the new bitch off. locked them up in kennel and found the old bitch near deaths door, the ammount of blood was un real, her leg was bust up real bad and i think a few arterys had been punctured. There was very little life in the old bitch so decided to put her out of her suffering. Fecking gutted.

thats pretty awful mate, gutted, would hate to lose my dog, more pet than worker but all the same, had a few scares like him being hit by a car etc, but still dont know how i would react to an untimely death, had to put a ferret down a while back and that was bad enough, to lose a dog that you have a bit of a connection with must be terrible, so once agains im sorry for your loss.

even the right thing can seem so wrong at the time, and also afterwards, but just rest assured that you ended her misery and that you have had several good years with her.

hope your daughter is alright about it all

wbk

Ye ta mate the daughter is ok about it, the only good thing was that the scrap was behind a load of wooden pallets and choped logs so she didnt see it, justb heard it.
