new ground to do with as I wish

Recommended Posts

Met an old friend of mine that many years ago introduced me to many farms where terrier work was wellcomed. He brought me down to his new home and we went for a few rabbits up the hills. To say the place is heaving is an understatement. The rabbits just run in formation there. We got 14 but most of the ferretable areas dont hold much rabbits. In fact I reckon most of the rabbits dont even have burrows. When you walk up the hill the rabbits run down through the rock and gorse, when you go back down,up again they go.I have come to the conclusion a few shottys are the best form of attack. The kelpieX had a great day flushing and retrieving shot rabbits.Heres a few pictures of the type of terrain we were on.Luckylocket you may recognise some of these places.

as far as you can see is infested with rabbits. In the summer I'm told the cover/gorse is 3-4 ft high.

The land owners took the sensible option and used a quad.

The best bit of all is no one is allowed on the land due to lambing, and he showed me 4 fox earths he wants done soon also.If I impress I have a friend for life.

yep very, coolmountain only a stone throw away.you can smell the krustys :clapper:

You would want to get further than a stones throw to get away from the smell!!

When I was a kid,(before the crusties came along,so a loooong time ago)I spent all my weekends and holidays up there.

Have you read "Macarthys Bar"? :whistling:
