zig zag wanderer 0
Just checked my reference book on poo and it quotes hedgehog droppings as 40mm long so I'll put it back in the frame. Still looks a bit square on the ends though which is more bird like. Quote Link to post
stephen58 1
could be hedgehog , mind you they usually eat worms etc , the thing that is putting me off is the fact that there is seeds in the scat,s unless some one is feeding it granary bread/milk Steve Quote Link to post

deadlock 0
I believe it a bird of some kind but the urine say its not as birds don't wee maybe the horses or a rat weed on it Quote Link to post
rick12345 181
I would say a bird of some sort, as birds use the same hole (cloaca or vent) for both urine and feces, unlike placental mammals, which possess two separate orifices for evacuation. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
My choice is poisoned rat because of dark urine, or early hedgehog. Quote Link to post

Rolfe 2
Rolfe - it's a hedgehog - 100% What is the story behind the great mystery?? OTC No great mystery OTC, Dicktheleg e-mailed me to identify the dropping as he is trying to catch a rat in a stable without much joy as yet........and just wondered if whatever was responsible for the dropping was anything to do with his lack of success. Yes, like you, my intitial feeling that it was from a hedgehog still stands. Rolfe. Quote Link to post
