jimjim555 0 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Share Posted February 11, 2009 heya all havent posted in here for ages now... i noticed last night my jill has an infection under her eye... just looks swollen up and has started to weep so i give it a clean up with a cotton bud and sterile water.... she seems more lively now but it still needs more attention. anything i can add to the water to speed up her recovery?? mikecat1 0 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Share Posted February 12, 2009 hello mate, i had something simalar with the dog. i went to boots and told them i was cutting straw in the fields and the mites gave me sore eyes, they gave me drops and i used them on the dog. within 2 days it had cleared up hope this helps Quote Link to post
droid 11 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Share Posted February 12, 2009 I suppose the obvious thing is to give a vet a ring, and ask them, if it's just irritating to the ferret and nowt too serious. But if you do add something to the water, DON'T add TCP. TCP contains phenols, and ferrets react badly to phenols, they are poisonous to ferrets. You can tell a substance has phenols in it, as they turn cloudy when you add them to water. Quote Link to post
