droid 11
why do a lot of fishermen hate carp or should i say carp fishing Are you talking about fishing for specimen carp or 'commercial' style carp? Quote Link to post
ROBERT954 0
the fish and the person fishing for them Quote Link to post
droid 11
In that case....... The fish: It's a fish. I fish for owt that swims, it'll do. But I'd rather see pics of wild fish than overfed, spawned up fish called 'Mary' or summat. The people: Each to their own. Personally I wouldn't bother bivvying up for 2 days for the odd run, but if that's what people like, then fine. Edited to say: I don't 'hate' carp or those that fish for them. I'm just pretty indifferent to it. I do however like the way serious carpers 'work things out' regarding tackle and baits, and I think that can have an influence on other types of fishing like specimen or match. That's got to be good. And you've got to admire the committment needed. Quote Link to post
Guest tewkesferreter
i think it stems from the more commercial venues like linear etc, theres some cracking fish in there apart from carp but the match/specimen anglers cant get on there due to how big the carp scenes got nowadays. all it takes is a 30 to pop up in some unknown venue then the place is rammed 24/7 with bivvys.
