dogman89 0
your dogs are well exercised anyway. my older dogs only get feed once aday and i couldnt comment on wether once or twice a day is better, so il leave that up to some of the more expericensed dogmen/women
T78 4
my dogs get fed once a day. if im not out,its about 9 pm and if i am out then its when i get in. they always have access to water.
sandymere 8,263
Water is ok when they get back, though if still panting then not to much but thats the only time to withold it, otherwise (as above) it should always be available. Feeding an hour after exercise is ok personally I feed once they have cooled down, got their tongues back in. Twice a day is fine if it suits your dogs depends on age ie pups need more regular feeds. I feed the lurchers twice a day with a small snack and a main meal. Sounds like their getting plenty of exercise so twice a day may cause less overloading on the amount they will need. sandy
TRANSIT690 0
once a day should be enough for an adult dog, what you feeding it?
Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Dont work mine but walk twice a day & wait bout hr from walking to feeding. Feed twice a day but split the 'once a day' meal into two. Always got water down for them
