tony d 0
the only reason i am wanting to give them a clean was i noticed that the bedding was slightly damp, probably from all the rain and snow we've had. so i have now moved the hutch to a differant position further back in the car port. the boys just smell damp and its pretty strong. cheers tony Quote Link to post
joe14 98
If they are entire they will urine mark, it also could be condensation, try a pillow case stuffed with straw on the bottom. Quote Link to post
Graham Nicholson 0
I never wash them, smellier the better from a working point of view, rabbits have very sensitive noses. Quote Link to post
doddsy1970 9
I have never washed a ferret. As said previously it does make them smell stronger. You have done the rigt thing by changing the bedding just leave it at that. Quote Link to post
MikeTheDog 153
Put some vents in the nest box to get rid of the condensation... And don't wash/bath your ferrets, particularly this time of year.. Edited February 10, 2009 by MikeTheDog Quote Link to post

John-B 4
don't wash ferrets mate, but here's a useless fact, ferrets are great swimmers Quote Link to post
lorelei0922 2
its already been said they dont NEED baths.. and yes it does strip the oils from their coats and then they double time it to build it back up and end up stinking worse...but its your choice.. if you wanna get this particular stink off them and let them start out smelling fresh in a fresh hutch go for it.. it wont hurt them either... but if you need to do so.... i'd do it INSIDE this time of year... use a lil warm water in the bath and or a lil gentle soap.. ie baby shampoo type thing... or dove ... toss a towel into a pillow case and toss the wet ferret into the case... and they'll go mental drying themselves off... dont put them back out in the cold till they are completely dry...
