well as arranged with another member from here * gaz100604* - i travelled the 3 hours by train from HARTLEPOOL to WARRINGTON , for the weekend . leaving hartlepool on friday at 6.00pm , i was greeted by gary at warrington station at 9.30pm , we had a chat and headed to his home , were we then had something to eats ect ect ,

NIGHT 1:

wasnt long before we headed off out , 11pm we set off to garys permission about 30 mins drive away , the frost was still set in and full moon with no wind , meaning lamping conditions were bad from the word go , but we didnt let that hinder us , as we walked along , with my coursing dog in toe , aswell as the pup gary got from me last year , charlie * now 10 months old* a collie based lurcher ,

we had a good walk but with conditions the way they were on the night we wasnt expecting much , a few daft slips . few long slips , just the give they dogs a run , had some good runs ,with the end result been a rabbit and a nice * retreived* hare for my coursing dog , and 2 rabbits for the pup , and headed back to garys . hoping the following night would be more of an outcome .

NIGHT 2:

Hoping conditions were going to be better * which they didnt* , due to not getting in to early hours in the morning we had a good days rest and kip , heading back on the lamp at around 10.30pm , hitting the land at around 11.00pm , but this time trying a new set of permission which gary had never walked before , we had planned to walk it during the day to get a feel of it first , but we decided against it as by time we finished what we had to do during the day it was getting late anyways , so we thought we would just give it a chance , walking around , again frost on ground , ground been hard ect , no wind , full moon , conditions were certainly not at there best , but managed to bag 1 rabbit with the coursing dog , and headed home .

Sunday :

took the dogs out for a walk as i was preparing to leave warrington , and said a great thanks to gary for having me over , even though we never bagged much at all , it wasnt the land / garys fault but the luck of the draw ect , but you cant win them all . its the taking part that counts :)

all best

im moving from my flat so i can also take the pup off lamp and battery back with me instead of him staying with a freind , life is getting back on track now , so is all good ,

nice one lad i am a crack shot with the ol water pistol lol, nice to have dale down with his missus the house is rather quiet without them two, the conditions were abosolute crap if dale wasnt down i wouldnt of went out at all, and those few catches were well earned we had do some walking to land them.

it was pleasure to walk out with dale top dog man and a gd friend , i learned alot this weekend and so did my pup, watching the saluki work was amazing speed eyesight and the turn for me was most impressive just shows how far my wee man has go to get anywhere near that level.

always next time roll on scotland next dale :)
