paul the poacher 2 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Share Posted February 9, 2009 i know you cant say if you have never owned all breeds but what is the best breed you have seen work or owned i had a border lakie a few year back he was a very good dog but then i bought a patt from zetland hunt and he was amazing he could find where others could not and he didn't need a stop end either sadly he died .so lads what is your favourite type of teriier and why cheers Quote Link to post

RANDOLPH 34 Posted February 10, 2009 Report Share Posted February 10, 2009 best dog ive seen work was a black n tan border lakey bitch(tina) my dad had,ugly little thing it was but couldnt half work.she was tryed on all sorts of spots,very good on rocks even though she wasnt over narrow or leggy,could find and stay in big places and could regulary kill a fox if it didnt bolt,sadly lost her doing her job. Squirrel_Basher 17,100 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Share Posted February 12, 2009 Best terrier i have ever owned was a rough coated black bitch from Wales .I had her from a pup and named her Willow .She was a demon on the rats and started her digging career at a year old .We had many ,many good digs to her and the highlight of her career was taking 62 head of vermin in 3 months during the last foot and mouth outbreak .I never did get to line her as she just wouldnt stand .She jumped out the back of my truck one day before a dig and yelped .Not thinking anything of it we dug 3 in a stop end with her but she couldnt walk afterwards .Shed damaged a nerve in her back that paralised her for life .Very sad day when she went i can tell you .Since then ive had some cracking dogs but none to hold a candle to willow.GRHS .
