z1000steve 0
Just wondering if its possible to have both ? So far been concentrating on making my pup friendly, well behaved and sociable which is going well but in stopping her eating the cats, kids and neighbours dogs am i going to turn her soft ? This is my first terrier and not quite sure what my plans are for her but shes off good working stock and it'd seem a shame not to go rattin or something. Steve Quote Link to post

Steve iv'e kept terriers in the house that have been regularly dug to, i.m.o. if it's in the dog it's in it, the down side is this... if you have a wife and kids and they spend the first yr of the pups life molly coddling it/giving it lots of tickles and treats etc, he becomes a loved member of the family, so when you go out to try him on his first fox and bring him home all chewed up your on the couch my son, and buying lots of sweets to stem the flow of childrens tears... Panna 68
I live in the capital in a house with not even a garten. I must have them being "companion" dogs too! I take them everywhere with me and I have no car. They walk without lead, go well with other dogs, loves humans (especially the small one), go on public transportation a lot and meet many other dogs in parks. Beside that I take them to hunts. It works perfect!! Anna Quote Link to post

Yokel that is spot on mate! z1000steve - I've got mine in the house, and it don't get in the way with their work ability, they are either grafters or not. Its just as Yokel said though, if you've got a family they will get attached to the dog as it will be a pet to them, and when it comes back half lashed out of it, the odds are the pan lids will be upset and your bird will have a good moan at you. Mine did, and still does so just a warning if you are going to have a working dog in the house like. Quote Link to post

Family aint a problem as my gf has has terriers before with her daughters dad and the wouldn't be surprised if the lass wanted to go as well as she knows understands the working side of things due to her dad doing it !
