Hi there,

I used to keep lots of different breeds of poultry, welsomers, leghorns, wyandottes, orpington, O E Game, blackrock, hybrid layers, indian game, various fancy and meat breeds and various bantams.... when I had more space than I do now! But I got my hands on a trio of dainty looking modern game one day, and was absolutely chuffed to bits with them....

Its there character, and awkward stance, they are like those dinosaurs, velosor raptors! When the cock bird first met my various other cockerels I was ready to jump in and save him, but I dont think any of them ever made contact with him, he was soo small and fast they simply went flying over his head, and hed be on top of them before they could turn round, grabbing their cape and giving them a good kicking, he sent several huge game cock running down the yard.... not that he hurt them much, but he always showed them up! He would strutt about, but was a gentleman with his ladies, and would come running from a good distance if he heard any of them in trouble..

In a few years, possibly, when im in a bigger place with more space... Il be on the look out for another trio, brilliant creatures, my favourite bird by a mile..

Here he is.....

Modern game bantams were never bred to be anything other than show birds. They are game in name only. They are proper little characters for sure and come in a host of colours. Yours looks like a brown red.

Good luck with them.

Brown he was!

In no way at all am I saying they are a game breed lol  but he was certainly the top dog on my farm! Nothing could touch him! Was funny to watch.. the most entertaining birds ive ever kept.

I am looking forward to the day when I can again own these birds :) I could watch them for hours!!
