For the reserviors that i fish it will generally be a Black Pennell during the buzzer hatches or as the Sedges start to appear on the water a Mallard & Claret

i have very little success with Dry Flies on Reserviors even when Sedges are being scooped off the top

for the rivers and streams that i fish i will generally have more success with a dry fly and from the time that Large Dark Olives appear on the water right through Mayfly time i will either use a Dogsbody or some generic Maylfy immitation switching to Black Gnats near seasons end

Orange Fritz gets alot of stick same as a Cats Whisker, but sometimes you have to resort to them, i don't like lure fishing unless I have to.

The buzz of the dry fly gets me going far more, or using a nymph on a intermediate or floating line.

My favourite fly is a mayfly or daddy at the right time of year
