if your going to use them only for the dogs/ferrets

then

all mine are gutted on catching, then stored in the freezer, I always chop head and feet off before freezing, as they fit in the freezer better, also put newly caught ones at the bottom and moving everything up,

take out one or two rabbits daily, for 24hr defrost

get a chopping board, I use a 2" slice of a tree, now get a sharp axe, you'll have the belly open from gutting, using one hand to hold the rib cage, use the other hand, holding the skin to pull away, all around the chest and back, then simply do the front, gives you lots of skin/fur to hold onto when pulling off the back end

then use axe to chop into chunks, I normally take each rear leg off, chop into 3

the rump, chop along spine, then split each side into 3

good scissors to cut up the front of rib cage, chop through spine, again, chop each half of rib cage into chunks

leave front legs as 1 piece

the two JRT's get half rabbit each, plus biscuits

I skinned 8 raccoons the other night, three of which had been killed buy a Pit Bull,...to say it was off putting would be an understatment!...with hares and rabbits, if you do 'em as soon as killed, its like peeling a banana!...dont realy need a knife once you got it down...good job though.

Kye..
