I agree that drovers would have moved around the country all over, especially down to Smithfield in London as it was a bit market. However lots were local folk, who would work particular droves or run

somebody give him Jeff Burrell's number....he breeds smithfields talk to him

Some of the best animals ever bred have been inbred, Herbert Atkinson and tom garner are just a couple who have got results from it.

How can you linebreed if the animals you're breeding aren't in some way related? If they aren't you're just outcrossing.

You use an outcross of a similar type from proven stock and then repeat the same process. If you have a couple of lines you will never need fresh blood if you test and cull hard.

is it not easier to have ten lines all from the same family tree to choose distant relative and just outcross now and again when needed

rather then inbreed tight animals and outcross inbreed outcross ?

Good for you, but how can it be a line if he has added umpteen pure blood dogs that are nowt to do with lurchers or even running dogs?? Would you breed husky into your line ? an still call it a line ?

if i wanted something added from the outcross then bred it b k into the line keeping the added trait but still having what i started with yes

How many times could you do that in 30 years with diff pure breeds that are so far removed from the original line it’s complete diff group of dogs never mind types ?

i depends if hes going back to the original line heavily after the outcross

no insult meant mate i can’t see you been insulted anyway

you made some ? off gullible pretend hunting men that haven’t done much and are easily pleased that’s why so many are happy with them mate ?

win win for everyone ?

?

Firstly I made NOTHING off the pups,I sold em all for either150-170 euros each,I never had the intention of making a profit, none of the buyers were gullible ,as you put it,I didn't have a massive sales pitch for them if you look back on my posts...they were advertised as rabbit dogs, nothing more, with a leaning towards, shooting/companion dogs,.….as for easily pleased...your insinuating the dogs wouldn't amount to much or what?I bred the litter for myself first and foremost, and 6 of the litter were booked at 3 days old....I wasn't trying to creat a super moocher ,just a very handy all round rabbiting dog, your comments are coming a bit disparaging old chap ,,lol
