greenman 221
i give my dogs a tin or two of sardines or mackeral in oil especially if i'm short of flesh and feeding dry food. i live near the coast and have access to a lot of fresh fish particularly herring. my worry is bones, a dogs constitution is a lot better than ours and herring bones are quite soft, but would it be ok to feed a couple of herring or so a week whole and raw into a dogs diet, or other oily fish? leegreen 2,196
My dogs eat raw fish regular but they have to be hungry. They eat them whole minus the guts. Introduce them slowly with little bits, as a treat (or as a trick). They have no problems with bones.
