richie 1
left the house before sunrise to make an early start... arrived about 6.30 & it was just turning light... as today i was mainly working hedge rows which were on steep banks i decided to take my Jill & smallest hob just so they would be much more of a chance of bolters... well that was the plan.. threw the long-net around the first small set of 8 or so holes which were on an open piece of land.. entered the two ferrets, waited for a while, then the ferrets appeared, let them go back down again & shortly afterwards they appeared & were showing no interest.. picked up & moved onto the next set... the next sets were the hedges, long netted them & entered the ferrets, after a few minutes i heard screams from under, located them at 5 foot, no chance, next screamer at 4 foot, no chance.. all they were doing was killing under & not a single bolter... as the day went on it was pretty much the same... the last set i netted up produced two, one i reached down to get that was at the mouth of the entrance & another that was caught in the net... loads of kills under & only two in the bag... better than nothing i suppose.. still nice to get out in the morning... a few shots..
