Let them heal naturally, if ran sore then accidents will happen, and you wouldnt like to run about chasing things with sore feet would you, bit respect for the dogs mate. To toughen up try allum. donk 12
Mine picked up some cuts and grazes on hard ground,i normally bathe the in warm salty water.BUT,only do this after the dogs feet have warmed back up to body temp. Then as has been said let them heal naturally.

donk 12
For cuts on the pads i normally bathe once a day for the first 3 days then just leave it to heal,i live close to the coast so if i have time i run them down t the beach, just what i was told off my vet, and it seems to work fine. donk 12
Just remembered this, when my beddy x got ripped open by a couple of dogs, the vets were having trouble stitching her what with her skin being so thin. She had quite a few 'drains ' in her to let fluids drain out of her. She was a right mess. Anyway i tried another vet for advice and it was her that put me onto walking the dog on the beach and encouraging her to get into the sea. Im not 100% sure if it helped that much, but i still go to the same vet now and she swears by salt water as an aid to healing most wounds. As a consequence whenever the dogs get cuts or grazes i always try to get them in the sea and it does seem to help??
