I can say that I have a half bred dog, line bred, that is always out with the terriers, rarely misses bolting fox, but lost odd one in thik cover. He will pull anything, and very well.. good lamp dog also.

If the dogs going to be doing lots of work with the terriers, get a half bred dog from parents you are happy with, they have the strength to do it better, faster, and most good ones are well racey enough to bag charlie easy in any field. JMO

As above, this dog has great prey drive and nothing knocks him off course, hes just as quick as the gun the quarry is dealt with so fast and no harm done! Ive got 1/4 bull 1/4 airedale 1/2 grey 25tts and shes quite a fast dog, good, prey drive etc....but i dont think she will have the power to draw unlike the dog above,so if your not running hares etc pre ban then i would definatly go for a second cross!

ATB mate

a pic for you to see the different sizes and strenght difference!

if its terrier work then i would suggets the half cross , but id go halfx / to half cross , 2nd generation , ive seen some cracking dogs out of breeding em this way, ive got a saluki bull greyhound and on the lamp i cant fault her , but at the side of a whole she aint really built for it , [mentally] at the end of the day it all depends on what your main quarry is , my other dog is a 3/4 1/4 bull greyhound x 3/8 5/8 bull greyhound roughly about 31 % bull rest greyhound a much better dog all over , but i feel that what ever dog you get , theres still a chance it wont do the main job you want it to but will do others perfectly wel ,but id go and see both parents work if possible as there are a lot of money grabbers out there who will preach the best stories in the world , for the hard earned in your pocket , atb

Your right Sounder there are some decent dogs in the North ;)

For the field size you have i'd look for a 1/2 or 5/8ths, not that theirs owt wrong with 3/4's but some of the bigger dogs can take a moment or two longer getting into their stride.

I like the first two for the terrier job also

Whatever you chose, just ensure both parents are doing either just what you want or excelling your needs and you wont go far wrong.

Why not try 2nd gen 1x bull grey , it should be leggy+quicker than a 1x bull grey, with greyhound on both sides. ;) but you never know with any litter, with a big% bull in it.??
