Foxy09 3
Out today with Holly who is in her first season, delighted with how shes turned out, tally including todays is 28 Rabbits 2 Pheasants and a mallard, she works with the lamp, ferrets and follows on great. Took her for a stroll on some mixed farmland/woodland today, got her out and ready and the telemetry wasnt working which just about put paid to the day but i decided to carry on without, rightly on wrongly i neednt have worried, put up a rabbit a few yards from the jeep which she chased into a nearby ruined farmhouse and had killed by the time i got in to retrieve her, some pics from today and another couple of days previous... Foxy09 3
Isnt to early mate. get him back on the creance after dark and just practice recalls back to the fist under lamplight, once he is re-calling no bother after dark just simply show him some rabbits, make sure you know your ground well though and dont give your bird any risky slips near fence lines or obstacles that he could harm himself on. Foxy09 3
Ih hes taking rabbits in daylight he should take them on the lamp no bother at all, if you want to give him a couple of dry runs with the dummy bunny on the lamp though cant see any harm in it, apart from getting in a tangle with it in the dark! lol good luck mate.
