jazz_11 5
there is such a wide range of scopes... i use a 3-9x40 with Illuminated recticle which is great when lamping.. i did have a hawke airmax map6 3-9x40 with AO but my current scope hasnt got AO... you get several different type scopes like mil-dots or just normal cross hairs.. with mildots you need to know what milldot to use at certain distances which can take some time setting up but when its set up properly its very effective... you can get very good hawke scopes for your price range like the map6 or Sr.... have a look on ebay mate and also opticswarehouse.com Quote Link to post

ghillies 209
wat ever it is if the poi shifts when you change the mag or paralex send it back with a stern letter of bollocking! lol. 3-9's or 4-16's... a 2.5- 10 is handy if you go ratting.. smaller the mag the more in veiw at seriously close ranges.. oh and you can focus down to a couple yards. spike 0
3X9X40 will cover everything you need. Try JSR I've heard they're not too bad Quote Link to post
bates88 0
I have Walthers and they are very good so maybe give them a try? Try to get something which illuminates for shooting at dusk/ night etc Quote Link to post
SteveieP 0
I've got the same Walther scope as Bates88 which seem to be available at JSR or Uttings for around £70 & come with their own mounts. 4x12x50 AO/IR Center illuminated mildot with a 30 mm tube. Can't wack it at the price. Mind you, I did get mine off Fleebay (brand new) for £50. Also have the Walther 3x9x40 AO/IR duplex ret' 25mm tube, nice but not as impressive. People also sound quite happy with the JSR own brand, mostly rebadged Leapers scopes but I think there's even a rebadged Tasco among them (or so it is rumored) Buy the walther & then on what you've saved you can afford 3 cans of pellets with enough cash left over to get pissed & have a kebab Quote Link to post
Guest noluv6
what scopes do you think are the best for hunting small animals like rabbits, squirells and pidgeons for £70 - £120 could you recomend any simmons wtc 3.5-10x50 if you can get one. I have a new aetec 2.8-10x44 I would sell for the price of a new wtc 3.5-10x50. People who recommend ags/hawke and nikko have obviously never used the simmon's wtc or aetec. many experienced hunter's will recommend these with out a doubt as the best budget scope's you can buy. wtc is now sadly dis continued. I've owned many many scope's,wasted 100s,ags/hake/walther/nikko/leupold/leapers/bushnell. I can go on,wtc and aetec are on par with leupold vxiii except leupold vxiii is slightly brighter. I kid you not Edited February 14, 2009 by noluv6 Quote Link to post
