downsouth 7,453
Bolted a fox 3 days ago which the keeper shot the terrier showed then returned to the earth then started carrying out cubs which still had about an inch of umbilical so i would say they were 1-3 days old Quote Link to post
undisputed 1,664
Are foxes like dogs in terms of their breeding cycle....some dogs come into season twice a year is it the same with foxes......they seem to be busy from late January till February.....I've never known of cubs up this way being born around January early feb! Guest whitser
august/september. early/late? I would say late and possibilty a second litter and I believe that as our climate continues to change we will see this happen more often, rabbits have already expanded their breeding season and last year my hunting partner came across week old Leverets in december at his work, he nearly had them in the blades of the cutter he moved them to the rough on the side of the field. i caught a young levert on the lamp a few years back in december(thought it was a squatting rabbit), only a few weeks old. no set rules in nature, you never know what it'll turn up.
