Guest oldskool
i'm plannin on breeding this bitch to a nice type of whippet like that... i'm a bit uneducated on the different lines of them though... if i was after something with a bit of gusto for foxes and hares then which lines are better?? laguna, penny meadows, mike browns, sooty sam??? or is sooty sam belonging to mike brown??? can ye's fill me in ps, i dont mean to rob the mans thread Quote Link to post
dangergirl 13
Sooty sam belonged to mike brown but hes long dead now. Theres lots of good working whippet strains, go onto the whippet forum and see if you can get an invite to the working whippet forum. DG Quote Link to post

bullyson 2,023
There some mint dogs cant wait to get mine. When can a whippet start working nick everybody is different as and when to start working their dogs. my whippets prob start ferreting around 12 months old maybe a bit more there still developing in my eyes even at that age. " you start them early you finish them early" some are lucky when a dog self enters and gets on fine but others i've seen never as good. everyone has there own ways of doing things mate some start em at 6 months old ferreting and i've seen 2 wel bred bitches started too early by impatient owners and both ended up opening up on chase !! thats a really bad fault in my eyes and im sure its because the owners pushed them too hard too soon. good luck with your pup mate, all the best keith Quote Link to post
