Any advice for wannabe lamper?

Hi, I've got a lurcher and permission off my farmer neighbour to use his land, the dog has all his basic obediance and is a good retreiver but I don't know anyone who lamps so am after some advice on how to start him off and what lamp I should get?

I'm in mid wales, is that the best thing to do then find someone with a good dog to let him run with?

Blitz lamp, give the dog some easy runs on squatters,make sure hes running down the beam,he will soon pick it up and before long you'll be bagging 10-20 rabbits a night!

Try and get a copy of Purdys progress it will give you the basics for a lamping dog and a lightforce is the best lamp u can get for not allot of money.

 

Running with an experienced dog is also a great way to learn

if he is a good retriever take his ball on the lamp first to get him watchin it
