Rabbithunter 456
Aint seen that many rabbit in one spot for years, bet the shooting was fun but the cleaning will be hell, hope you like to eat rabbit!!!! Im sure Mr Gun takes 100 bags regularly. He most probably takes them to Mr. butcher and gets some £££s As for the cleaning part, if you dont wanna gut them, dont kill them. i know lazy fuckers that nail 15 a night with dogs and just chuck them, pisses me off. I dont mind gutting bunnies, especially on a cold morning ferreting, really warms the hands up. Its all par for the course Quote Link to post
pegandgun 52
I stopped skinning rabbits on a big scale a few years ago, when your getting 100s you need shot of em asap..... I dont agree with chucking any type of game in the hedge bottom, someone will take them Quote Link to post
Guest RobW71
It all depends how it's chucked in the hedge Regards Rob Quote Link to post

Guest EWOK
Now I've never taken 100 rabbits in my life but have caught a few cooler fulls of fish at the beach and a couple hunderd catfish and spent the entire next day cleaning and freezing fish, this was when I was alot younger and could stay out a couple of days in a row. These days I keep what I want to eat and through the rest back. As far a game shot, I've killed as many as three big deer in a day but I will find someone to take two of them now. We here can only dream of shooting 100 rabbits at one time and if it happened, I'm sure that I could force myself to stay up for this at least once. Something happened to the rabbits in my area a few years ago and they have not come back, it was common to take 25 a day running them with begals years ago but getting 2-3 now is a good day, maybe it will go back up someday. But back then we had no whitetail deer and now they are everywhere, no one hunts the fox here and it is illegal to shot them, can only take them with dogs and no lamping of anything. Hawks and owls a plenty too, also the farming has changed with no more fence rows for rabbit to hide. When my Dad was young, quail hunting was the thing and killing 20-25 a day was possible but wild quail are hard to find now and no one keeps bird dogs as they use too. You could hunt anywhere in the old days but now there is posted signs on every tree and you must join a club to have land to hunt. Quote Link to post
