Not really long enough Barrel wise or Stock wise? If either of those, have a look on their websites at the various specifications, think long and hard about it, and ask your gunny if he can get you one in. SS no neither! as in I didn't look at the rifle long enough to get a proper idea about it! I went into FA Andersons this morning and had a look at a .17 HMR anschutz with a 18" barrel and sporter stock- plain straight grained walnut- not unattractive- Loved it - pice tag of £715 which seems about right having a look at other sites on the net- great trigger with very little creep, Solid bolt, well made magazine.... Damn, Just need to badger my dad about getting his form filled in! only thing is, i might have to put something grippy on the butt so it dosen't slip over when I lean it up against stuff- like when coming indoors- anyone got any suggestions? Not quite sure what you are asking, but 1) Keep it in the bag when coming back home if possible 2) rubber butt pads readily available in different sizes 3) have seen bits of motorbike innertube stretched over both stock and fore end to aid grip/protection. Leaning the gun up against anything either in doors or out is not a great idea for several reasons, but at best you'll have to go through the whole zeroing set up again Quote Link to post

Leaning the gun up against anything either in doors or out is not a great idea for several reasons, but at best you'll have to go through the whole zeroing set up again yep something on the butt pad to aid grip on the floor- liking the inner tube idea.... of course i'd keep it in the slip, but when getting it out of the safe, then in between getting it out of the safe and putting it in the slip- you know, we all lean out guns up against something from time to time- like re-tying shoelaces, dealing with shot rabbits, having a pee or whatever Quote Link to post
