jasper65 6
she looks a lovely sensible Gos Jim! she's a credit to you I've not flown mine for probably a couple of weeks but will need to get out with her before the weekend. I can finally feel at ease flying on a Saturday now with the game season finished in the area, last Saturdays last day of the season was Mayhem here with Guns going off all over the place around where I fly... I'll be contacting Frank tonight to see if he can make it over this weekend! I need to get out walking about again and get some of these calories off so Sunday we'll be walking the landfill which should put me in traction for a while .... atb Tony Quote Link to post

I'm really enjoying her at the moment Tony,i picked the calmest looking Hawk in the aviary when I went to Micks' and it really shows.I've been flying her at 2lb 10oz and although she's not fully in yarak, the minute i pop a ferret in a hole she fluffs up wags her tail, sticks one foot up and it's like-game on! She rarely misses to be fair, which you'de expect. If you're flying Saturday give me a shout, i'll come over.Same applies if/when Millet and Frank come down. I'm playing it by ear as to when to put her up as i've no seen any young or caught does with young in them as yet,so i'll carry on till I do.It is always harder work as the ferrets tend to play up when they catch young'uns below grond. I'm looking for a white (albino) hob to come on a working sebaticle for a couple of weeks at the seasons end as i'de like some young ferrets this year, so if you know of anyone nearby ATB Jim Quote Link to post

Cheer's Millet When you come down Millet, bring a hob if you've a white one.I'll put him with my Jills and let you have as many of the young as you need.I don't sell either, I breed, keep back 2-3 jills and pass the rest on.I handle them while they're still pinkies as my jills are good as gold, they rear them and everyone handles the kits-I like them that way. gentilis 0
I only have the one Albino mate and i need him to do a bit of bunnie bashing when i get chance plus he has to line my white jill's..i have young every year and keep one or two back for myself and cull the other's as soon as they are born..as i dont like the way the youth of today treat there ferret's..well a good majority of them anyway..but if folk let me know they require some new stock i hang onto a few extra..Cheer's Millet No worries mate.I'l exchange a hob with you if you breed a young one, freshen up my blood line. My mate Martin culls his exess young too,me I gave my youngsters away,(I had 18!!). People came from as far away as Spalding in lincolnshire. My Mrs. wasn't too pleased so I had to do it while she was at work or i'de still be sytuck with the little buggers eating me out of house and home Jim Edited February 4, 2009 by gentilis Quote Link to post

Count me in!Is it all walked up stuff or shall I bring my ferrets?Good luck today, let me know how you get on, ATB Jim I hope so mate! I rang him earlier but couldn't get hold of him but will buzz him later. had a wander with the bird and to be Honest it was pretty dead, she was a bit unsure with the first few recalls in the snow but finally speeded herself up after a few well aimed snowballs in her direction .... I slipped her at one Rabbit close to cover which she hadn't got a hope in hell with, mainly just to get some use in her wings! she over flew the Bunny and disapeered in the fog that was coming in, she wasn't far away just sitting in a low Hawthorn, I called her down and had a quick walk around to get myself in some sort of condition so I can keep up with Millet and now sitting here knackered in traction :lazy: Ferrets would be good Jim as there's are plenty of decent area's around there to Ferret! if not we'll do the Meadows later if we have no joy ....
