snoopdog 1,256 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Share Posted February 3, 2009 saturday morning i went for a mooch with the dogs.....to be honest iam struggling to find enough daylight hours to spend with the pup...with other hunting trips planned and the season being in full swing.....i go to work in the dark and come home in the dark,,,,,so the walks are always in the dark...... ..exsept for weekends.....anyway i set off early saturday morning to get to my destination as light breaks......i was hoping for the big dogs and my terrrier to catch a few bunnies for the pup to mouthe,...as i got to my destination.there was a 4x4 parked up with four blokes with guns and what looked like a beddy x....which i presume they where using for flushing.....they where a couple of hundred yards away....so didnt get chance to speak to them ...they just stopped for a second or two....and looked at me ...then set of across the fields ....they where actually going the way i wanted to .....but i headed in the opposite direction..with them having guns i presume it was their perrrmission.....but theres footpaths allover..so i did a left and set off.....i walked for quite a while,.....waiting to here there guns going off....but i only heard about four shots ...they must have not been having much luck....anyways.....my munchies was have a few runs and the terrier got to one trying to get in a walll......the pup was part climbing the walls ....and part jumping so i was pleased with him.......the rabbits where a bit thin on the ground and with some running to the limestone cracks....it was pretty hard going for the dogs.....but the where a few good runs and some dodgy ones too......but i run my dogs on this kind of terrain since they are pups so they get a few knocks early on then learn to run it well.......i think i manged nine bunnies in a couplke of hours so being the kind hearted soul i am .....i left four of them on the shooters 4x4.... ...i bet the thought you cheeky twat.....but with not hearing many shots i thought it was the right thing to do..... .. a few pics of the day....sorry there not so clear but iam shite with a camera....
