stealthy1 3,964
I've owned an old HW77 since 1987'ish, changing the spring in it is easy, done it quite a few times, well this time I changed the spring from an Ox spring to a Titan XS, the Ox worked fine but lost its power as they do, the problem is that now it fires all over the place, even at short distances, I've not had it chronoed yet, so dont know what its pushing out at the minute, had it to bits three times, any idea why its shooting so many flyers, using Superdomes, anybody? hiho 5
maybe You need to fire a few 100 rounds through it until the spring smooths out like you do with a new gun Quote Link to post
Headshot08 36
Its becasue you have put a shit spring in!!! Replace it with the original hw spring or a gas ram or venmon, heard nothing god about ox or titans both shite Steve Quote Link to post
craig33 10
nothing wrong with titan springs at all . its because the spring is too long and very stiff it will cause the piston to slap and bounce back take it out grind 5 coils off and put it back in .remember to grind a flat back on the end that you have cut off .cos the springs are that strong you wont lose any power by cutting it down and it will restore accuracy . dont over grease the internals that will cause diesling which will send pellits all over the shop and knackers piston seals good luck Quote Link to post

My dad pup an ox spring into his HW35, years ago. It was that stiff, it broke a linkage on the cocking arm. He then put a standard spring in it, and it's still going to this day. Quote Link to post
