410 0
Hi, I am thinking about getting a shotgun certificate for rough shooting. I used to shoot clays a long time ago, but never owned a gun. May I ask what sort of questions you get from the police and what sort of safety measures I will need in place? For example as well as a cabinet, do you have to have double glazzing, etc? I ask as I am planning on moving soon and the house im looking at is very old, and only has those old, but good qulaity windows and doors. Thanks M Quote Link to post
SportingShooter 0
The extra security which is required depends on the area you live in. If the area you are moving to is a high crime area, then you may need to have extra security in place to please your FEO when he comes for a visit. There is no requirement to have extra security, but they may make it difficult! If you are moving to a quiet suburb, then as long as you have a secure cabinet out of the way, then you should be fine. Have a look Here for general guidance. SS Quote Link to post
cyclonebri1 8
There's always an ideal, which is maximum security. But for a single shotgun a good cabinet well fixed and positioned should be sufficient. Years ago a hardened steel cable bolted to the wall was acceptable security for 1 or 2 sgs. Anyone any up to date info? Quote Link to post
