pointer 543
nearly all my family are in the building trade,i started off straight from school as an aprentice plumber for my dad.he would pick me up from my gcse exams and we went to work..........i didnt even get the summer off. six days a week.its done me no harm. i left plumbing because there wasnt as much work about and went into a factory bagging 25 kg bags of powder up.horrible messy work with shovels and a hopper.no fancy machinery.fecking dark age stuff ............it was yellow and died your skin so you looked like you had jaundice. i worked my way up through hard graft and now life isnt quite so labour intensive. i started work at 15 and im 32 now without a day unemployed.ok ive maybe been lucky but i was brought up to believe that any job was better than no job. BUT i look at how hard my parents have worked and what little they have and how lads i grew up with have more than me without ever working and wonder if we are the idiots for working. this country dosent reward those that go to work,i should have got a lass up the duff when i was 16 and i reckon id be better off than i am now. jackard 36
be interesting to see your veiws as 6oo protest about it . every 1 that you speak to is and has been moaning about immigrants in britain and there are only a few out on strike about immigrant workers , but should it be only them that are on strike ? why not every industry and bring this sht hole of a country to its knees , maybe are goverments may listen and do some thing about it then . we are suposed to live in a democracy ! we vote are leaders in to do whats best for us and they neva do owt for the working class , just stamp on us all the time ! and we are mugs for standing for it. if it was up to me we would all be out on strike and put a stop to what we all dont want immigrants and more immigrants to come ! ! i while a go i put a topic up here that says it all about how we are . we all moan and do nothing but in numbers we are strong and are a force to be reconed with . all out thats the way to stop it !!!! right ill get off my orange box now

People read Lucky's Statement and dont forget it!! Spot on........ There are loads of lazy British people claiming benifits, dole etc........... They choose not to work, not because they cant work for a good reason! Sooooooooooooo, lets bring people into this country WHO ARE GOING TO WORK, WHO ARE NOT LAZY, WHO ISN'T SCARED OF WORK!!! Keeps 403
Theres too much complacency for those sitting comfortably in permanent work. Its not how it used to be where those on the dole were the ones who didnt WANT work. Yes, there are still those who don't want to work, but the way things are at the moment theres a hell of a lot of people finding themselves out of work and willing to do anything to have paid work and their pride intact. My son left school at 15, started working immediately, training to be a gamekeeper, once he qualified he moved on to another shoot where he was laid off at the end of the rearing season. Not to be put off he found work straight away in a factory - not ideal but it was work, was well paid and he seemed happy. Well at the age of 20 he was laid off the place he had worked for more than 2 years, and despite trying very hard to find work for the last 4 months he hasn't been able to, thanks to the recession. What little work that is available in this country should be available for BRITISH workers first, who through no fault of their own find themselves unable to find jobs, not given to workers from another country. I am not racist in the slightest, but its hard to sit by and watch the ones we love struggling, whilst preference seems to be given to foreign workers time and again. I know of plenty of others in the same situation also, people who have worked hard all their life so less of the labeling those unfortunate enough to find themselves out of work lazy; times have changed! gnasher16 30,163
What needs to be remembered especially in the building game is that your english bricklayers, plasterers etc are doing a skilled trade that they have worked hard to learn to a high standard.....whereas your average latvian or polish bricklayer or whatever in his own country is seen as a shit shoveller....over here a bricklayer is a decent skilled trade,in poland its a shit job so naturally their standards are much lower......this shows day to day in the quality of their work yet of course employers are quite happy to compromise that for a lower wage = more profit.....then of course as soon as you pull them on their work quality the prejudice card is pulled so as an employer you cant win. Regardless of the british jobs for british workers theme i would rather have an honest skilled worker who im paying 150 a day than get a shit job done for 75 a day.....which will of course reflect on yourself as an employer at the end of the day whether that be through a property you struggle to shift or having to have work redone to a sensible standard. If employers were a little more fussy and held higher standards this problem would often sort itself out.

Well you decided to do an outside job, LIVE WITH IT, DEAL WITH IT, BE PREPRED TO BE UNDERCUT! Get your facts right 'artic' this italian firm didnt under cut anyone in fact they wernt even the cheapest tender i'll tell you how they got the contract... back handers to those supposed to be overseeing a so called fair closed tender...makes me sick that a firm like Total that has made massive profits on oil prices putting up the cost of living and cutting into the profits of the average working man cant even put money back into the local community in the time of a recession now that is selfish...as for the other bullshit your spouting about british builders i'll just laugh that off as petty minded middle class ignorance...i've been in the building trade for 24 years now most of that time has been self employed sure makes you graft when you work for yourself! and yes i agree there are some lazy feckers out there making a career out of farming kids and sponging benifits but thats not the whole picture theres a real skills shortage in the trade and this has a lot to do with the facts the torys invested so little in training wasnt easy to get an apprentceship in the 's and now we are seeing the knock on effect of that plus a lot of kids today dont want to work in the cold and shit of a building site they would rather work in I.T or the lesiure industry...i also work on site with polish chippies some are good lads but to be honest nothing special but lets have no illusion about this the only reason they are here is simply because they are CHEAPER than local labour greedy agencys and greedy contractors...Gordon Brown said "british jobs for british workers" well its about time he stopped saying things that sound good and did the right thing!
