runningwhippets 0
Set of early this morning to have a trip out with dollymixtures, up in scarbrough, The first sets we did where out in the field and a a little wood, we had some cracking sport with the dogs, every where you look they where sets, and rabbits out in the field, whitch was great, in the wood it was easy digging but 5ft deep lol, we had some hard digging all day, we spent around 2 hours in the wood and in the open field, we managed to get 5 or 6 but all of those rabbits where from the whippet catching the bolters, whitch was great to look at, the only thing was that 2-3 rabbits where bolting nealy at the same time, and we must of put 30 - 40 purse nets down before that to, i think we mist around 7 in that wood, the we moved on to the chalk warrens, and i would'nt beleave how many warrens there where, if we had a gun with us today we could have had 100 rabbits lol, aftter about 30 min,we decided to split up, to we couold get a few more warrens done, so i spotted a couple of 7 holers, and stuck the ferrets down and baged 4-5, and we came togeather and they had been bigging 6 ft warren, and they couldnt get there ferret back, so we stuck a rabbit there so the ferret would come out, then we left it and went on to a differant farm, and when we where going home he was going to check see if the ferret was there, and it was lol, it was a cracking day out, the ferrets worked very well, so did the whippets, thanks again dollymixtures for inviteing us for a days ferreting.we ended up with 10, they is 9 in the pic because we had to shot a rabbit near the warren to get the ferret back, Cold scarbrough lol. Chalk Warrens out in the field Plents of pic lol, Thanks RW Quote Link to post
