INCUBATION DISINFECTANT

Recommended Posts

Yup

Looks the stuff to me fella, I would advise getting a small moisture meter mate, they only cost about a fiver, leave inside the incubator with the eggs then you can ajust the ventilation accordingly, obviously the humidity levels are different for different egg species, have a good read about the humidity levels for the eggs your hoping to hatch before you start, also start your incubator and leave it running for at least 24 hrs at the correct temp before you put any eggs in, dont worry that the temperature will drop once you have put the eggs in, thats normal, dont ajust the temp after eggs are in as it should return to the temp you were running at before you put the eggs in.

Hope this helps mate.

a quick question for you lads, im only an amature and have only just got back into incubation as the price of hens has got ridiculous...anyway, am hatching chickens and ducks out no problem, but have hatched a dozen peackocs or so and cant get them to survive in the brooder for more than about 5 days...they just seem to die...also, cant seem to get pheasants to hatch out have tried altering the humidity at the end to help soften the shell but to no luck and if we help them out of the shell they seem to just fade away and die...any info greatly appreciated......

I try to get my birds under a Brood Lamp within a few hours of drying out. they stay in the Hatcher until this time unless one is a bit poorly and then moved under lamps, the other method I use is a couple of 60w Red bulbs screwed with the holders screwed onto a a peice of board/wood fitted with a dimmer switch on the top, the chicks are placed in one of them plastic stacker Box's and the lights placed on the top, if they get to hot you can turn them down with the dimmer! too cold and you turn it up again, I'll try and get a rough picture of the one I made up! its nothing special by any means but does the trick perfect....
