mattydski 560
Just a question. There are lots of Members on here whose user names are self explanatory. There are others who are aren't...... I've had mine for years. It started off in the office one day when a new member of staff started work, and when asked what her hobbies were, she said she skied.. Another one of my coleagues said 'Matty D skies' and from then on it stuck. Any one else care to share? i always just thought you were polish You see..thats why I put the post up...Things become much clearer when they are explained to you.. comanche 2,922
Those who have read the wonderfully evocative book " I Walked By Night" by Lilias Ryder Haggard will know all about the old poacher and his exploits. His real name was Frederick Rolfe.......and i have helped a good friend of mine do a lot of research into old "Rolfes" life history and there is to ba a book published shortly that tells the TRUE story of Frederick Rolfe and his life as "The King of the Norfolk Poachers"......and hopefully a DVD.So......that is where the Rolfe name came from..... Cool .He was rumoured to have been a bit of a "difficult character" behind the rose-tinteds of LRH but the new project sounds intriguing and well worth a look . Basically my user/nick- name is one that was given to me by various friends years ago . Loads of reasons, insatiable appetite for knowledge about other cultures .The fact that until the ravages of time started taking their toll I tended towards the Neil Young circa 1971 school of hairdressing ,I once cut a hedge a bit short but I've never taken a human scalp . Oh and I suppose the fact that I tended to live in the woods in a tipi to be closer to my pheasants from time to time might've had something to do with it.
