Heart of Wales nice dog there mate..

Chartpolski like the 3/4 bred,is that how the whole litter through, because that looks fairly racy to me mate cracker anyhow mate,is he/she yours?

Black Stabbath really like the top GSD pictured, cracking dog mate.

Would it matter if say you bred a litter of this cross and the dam was the GSD,would that affect the pups speed rather than doing it Greyhound dam bred?

cheers....

No mate, that bitch was bred and owned by Typp, out of his half x GSD and a greyhound bitch. She was only about 8 month old there, and as far as I know, all the litter were about the same stamp... looked a bit like 1/4 collie 3/4 grey to me.

Cheers.

Cheers mate..I can certainly see the collie resembelance to this dog its cracker

There is all different theories on breeding lurcher first cross, mine GSD DAM to Greyhound Sire she has bags of speed more than enough for rabbits and ok for retrieving hares,Probably not as fast as Whippet Grey or Saluki Grey, but fast enough, she will as soon as I have spotted something on the lamp if I knock the light out she will run out in the dark to the spot light back on she is near enough on her quarry, she does not miss a great deal.

In my opinion the most important thing is that both parents tick all the boxes for me they both gave that in abundance, the Dam had plenty of speed agility courage and inteligence hunts cover for fun plenty of stamina, the Sire was not only a proven track dog but a proven Sire also his sons and daughter won the Lurcher racing and coursing at our show and many other and the both exelled on the lamp, and preban he devoured foxes.

Take all that in to account and your in with a good shout,I have an exellent Gsd dog nothing like show breeding weighs in about 50kilos heavy boned cracking temprement this is him marking a fox but to heavilly built to make a lurcher in my opinionpost-5621-1233521361_thumb.jpg

Put him to a small greyhound and you probably still end up with big pups depends what you want them for,

What Greyhound did you use mate...like the GSD have a few myself so will have to get picks up male sam as the one you have pictured really big strong dog as you say maybe abit to heavy to sire decent allrounder pups..i've started my 13 month old GSD bushing, hunting cover but she come in season so got Cabin Fever at the moment :thumbdown:

Here's a couple of pictures of belle , the pup I had off HEART OF WALES and sister to Skycat@s bitch. She is an absolute pleasure , a very biddable and intelligent dog. She has accounted for 168 rabbits so far averaging 3 a session, all returned live to hand , nothing bigger yet ! She is 24 3/4 TTS and weighs 29kgs. excellent turn of speed and agility.

She was the smallest of them wasn't she? Lovely looker too! Sounds as though they all have that same temperament: easy to train and desperate to please. Mog is so obedient that I can release the other dogs when out on exercise with an 'OK' command and she will walk beside me until I tell her she can go on as well: she'll be quivering with anticipation but won't run on until I tell her she can: The only time she goes a bit deaf is when she scents a munty in the cover! No great problem. LOL

If i wanted a x of that mold, i would go for a Malx whippetxgrey. Plenty of speed, power, guts, and what you need in a dog to catch game Agilty. ;) Ive had big dogs, and they did catch, [bullxs, colliexs, bitzs,] all 70-80lbs, and carnt see GSDx , being any better than the otherxs.?? My 1x collie grey,is 24in 58lb and he is 15 months old. He as had 85 rabbits,3 hares, from 17 nights lamping, not bad for a young dog. Ive had lurchers 25years, and if i learned anything, you dont need a big dog to catch any game .? I had a bitza bitch 25in 55lb, and she was the best catch dog i ever had ;) Size+power mean nothing with out Agilty, and i know what x i would go for ;)

i do like this breed my self and wish i could of bred from my own GSD a while back

she was a cracking bitch.

worked well and caught rabbits her self on occasions. She has a nice straight back non of this sloping show dog shite. and i worked her out with my air rifle, with lurchers and with my harris hawk, and she always did me proud

here a few photos of the bitch

Never liked the guard breeds, always thought they were just for people to look 'ard, but a couple of years ago a good friend of mine got 2 for security around the farm, and they certainly look the part! However i think that their characters are fantastic, so clever and easy to train. I would definatly look at a cross with GSD in the breeding if i were to get another lurcher.
