Keeps 403
We had a look down deepdigs yesterday for a spot of ratting on a farm where the farmer was threatening to put poison down. The weather was against us did nowt but rain all day but we had a good day all the same. Deepdig had been on the farm the previous day and seen rats all over the place, but in typical fashion, and as is our luck, they must have heard of the impending visit and buggered off elsewhere After we'd shifted a pile of rubbish and wood, and blocked off as many escape routes as we could we let the dogs out and got started. The dogs were marking but the holes were very deep, the farmer was with us watching and offered a helping hand - every ratter should have one of these - saves an awful lot of time and effort dottie soon cottoned on pups enjoying their catch the farm dog came along to join in, but seemed more interested in the bitches than he was in the rats We didn't get huge numbers but had an enjoyable morning, the digger certainly speeded things up as the rat holes at this place were deep and would have took ages to dig up by hand. Once we'd mooched around the farm and found nothing else at home we moved on to another farm for another mooch about. Some of the places the dogs were marking were impossible to bolt rats from, even using the smoker. .jpg' alt='NewAvatars_mega_shok.gif' alt='80'>.jpg'> We found a few rats round the chickens - taking two of the dogs who are most steady with the chucks, and down by the pig sties. a couple of the farm residents round the chickens We had an enjoyable day out, and it beats going to work. Back out again tomorrow for the start of our ratting on the shoots Quote Link to post
