Bootsha 1,306
You are saying is that because he has done nothing, he will not produce good digging Dogs? Many, many, many good digging dogs have not produced a dog worth keeping, no matter which Bitch he goes over. Producing has EVERYTHING to do with Genes and NOTHING to do with how good the individual dog is. I have lit the Fuse.........now Ggggoooooo!!.......wait for it. Your quite right Shamo, but genes, good working genes, need to be proven, and not by looking at dogs and what their ancestors have done only, they must be proven in the field, worked and worked and then worked some more . Yes you can breed from a dog that is from 100% working lines that may not have been worked at all, and possibly breed as good as the litter mate who has had his arse worked off him to earn the right to be used as a stud dog, I know which I'd prefer to breed from. You pays 'yer money, you takes 'yer choice. Quote Link to post
J Darcy 5,871
All this has come about because of money. Somewhere in the past some greedy tosser has sold pups on to lads they dont know. the next minute they are knocking litters out. If people only bred enough to give to their mates then this sorry state of affairs would never exist. I don't blame th idiot with the "stud" dog, he obviously dosnt knowany better and is beyond using his tiny brain, but i do blame the lads that originally sold the patterdales out to start with. Just watch what happens over the coming few years.....soon the rescue centres will be full of "patts" once their "vogue" status declines and something else becomes fashionable... and all down to money, money , money. Sad really..... Quote Link to post
chezney 44
who in the first place give the nutters a dog from working lines no wonder the terrier world is f****d Quote Link to post
Covenantor 29
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Pure-Chocolate-Patte...A1%7C240%3A1318 Here's the link, now most of you know how to do a search on ebay. But for the others?????? Could be the start of a long process [already started?, that drags the type into the KC show ring] Am i right in recollecting that a JRT can b KC registered these days? Guest whitser
least he's been honest about the dogs working ability. plenty of lads breeding of dogs and claiming they workers when they're not. if someone is stupid enought to pay 250 for a service of a non working patt then they deserved to be ripped of. obviously who ever sold him the dog is a money hungry puppy peddler...400 quid for a pup only a fool would pay it. Terrier man 38
:clapper: :clapper: States " He cost us £400 so the attraction of mating your Patterdale with him is obvious If you get a couple of chocolates you are quids in!!! " Now this statement somes him up Quote Link to post

You pays 'yer money, you takes 'yer choice. I know mate, but just giving people something to think about.... Middleton, Gould, Nuttall to name 3 have all done it, just that they kept it quiet and said other dogs sired the Litter. There are guys breeding dogs who have only done a few Foxes or only ever bolted a few. Guys breeding Litters from dogs only used for ratting, will they produce digging dogs? Like I said, just giving people a thought. Breeding is THE hardest art in this game!! Quote Link to post
dabrain2211 0
the guy sent me this message via e-bay He is 9 months old and he should be ready April time. I'm getting the word circulated now to drum up interest. The interest on the street locally is what prompted me to spread the word nationally. As you can see from the pics he is a smashing colour and even though he is from 100%working stock he is an amazing family pet, excellent around young kids. We are not using him to work but before long we are taking him to local farms with another patterdale owner to see if his natural instincts are sharp at ratting! Let me know if in the near future you are interested. Obviously until he is proven we can negotiate fees, and even go along the route of proceeds from the sale of 1 of the pups etc... Cheers, Steve. ( we are not breeders..... simply own a dog who gets mega attention locally (Derbyshire) from farmers and other dog owners) Quote Link to post
