These are cracking little dogs. Compo - lovely to see your little fella!! It doesn't seem very long ago when you got him, and he's growing up fast!! :D

Something went wrong with the posts....

I'd like to add that I use my teckels here to hunt cottontail rabbits (don't go underground) together with pharaoh hounds. Some of the dogs I bred are used for turkey hunting, but the main hunting task in this country is tracking shot whitetail deer.

one of the oldest established hunting dog clubs in germany.( deutsche teckel club e.v.)

the dog came from tecklenburg hence the name teckel( dachshund, dackel are other names for the same dog)

working stock is very much alive, indeed a dog in order to breed MUST do working tests, have the standard( height, weight ect)

anyone wanting one can get in touch with the teckel club and they will refer you to a breeder of WORKING stock( deutsche teckel club olfen- sandfort is the club i belong to and have some excellant working dogs amongst them)

i can and will help with translation if needed.

i posted some pics a while back, "new terrier today" follow the link to photo bucket and there are also pics of probably the best dog i have had the pleasure to have owned " casper von den wilden toechtern".

hope to of been a help. if any problems getting in touch with the teckel club then pm me and i'll get the e-mail of the steward for working stock for you.

cheers lads.
