chess 0
Well, i wont be out again this season, its been a good one for duck, the best ive had. Its mostly been oportunistic with shooting over flooded barley fields and stubbles. we started in mid september with the first flood, there was a lot of geese around and then the duck moved in. The first flight i couldnt believe the number of duck that had been atttracted to the splash, teal in packs of 15 - 20 swept in, mallard came and we even knocked down a few Gadwall. Towards the end of that flight we stood at the edge of the water picking off the mallard and ignoring the teal, they were too quick. Being well inland i was suprised when i shot a wigeon and a nother flight i called a pack of four duck that curled back round and two fell to my first barrel, both hen wigeon. The seasons total for two of us has been 44 mallard, 33 teal, 4 wigeon, 3 gadwall and a greylag. We probably put in £40 worth of barley and felt this was exellant value for the sport we had been given. Chess
