if you get the right bedlington they make exellent earth dogs we had to digs this morning with one of mine , the problem you have is finding the right bedys as theres a lot of over grown giraffes out the posing as bedlingtons that would never get to ground there ok for lurcher crosses and bushing but no good for earth work theres not many of us using them for earthwork these days but they are a very underated dog

my good friend john methven has kept, bred, dug to,hunted and wrote about them all his life, amungst the best.and from what information i have gatherd from this person who is very knowledgeable to my belief on the breed, the main key and purpose for the bedlingtons origin was as an all round game little terrier. with equal standards in every aspect of its working intensions! above or below game big or small.

hop this helps!

seen one that was ment to be rock hard

a big dog but had a good name for digging.

friends of mine seen it work and swore by the dog.

was a very good stud i heard to greyhounds

but very few terriers made the grade from him.

happens with all breeds i think.

would no mind a real well bred one to be honest.
